A Forum on meaning was held at the Faculty of Philology within the Kazakhstan Youth Section of the International Symposium “Psychological Problems of the Meaning of Life and Acme”
On April 27, 2026, at al-Farabi Kazakh National University, at the Department of Russian Philology and World Literature, a Forum on Meaning was held in a hybrid (offline/online) format. The event was organized by Saule Issaliyeva, Senior Lecturer of the Department of Russian Philology and World Literature, with the support of the Higher School of Journalism of L.N.Gumilyov Eurasian National University (Lyudmila Gitikhmaeva), Renaissance University (Shohista Sultanova, Tashkent, Uzbekistan), and the City Scientific and Methodological Center for New Technologies in Education of the Almaty Education Department (Roza Akmagambetova).

The scientific event was held within the framework of interim assessment with third-year students of the educational program “Russian as a Foreign Language” of the Department of Russian Philology and World Literature. Students actively participated in organizing and conducting the forum, selecting speakers, and serving on the jury.
Among the Forum guests were Lailo Raupova (Renaissance University), Saule Begalieva (al-Farabi Kazakh National University), Aliya Mombek and Gulnaz Kanafina (Abai Kazakh National Pedagogical University), as well as students and master’s students from L.N.Gumilyov Eurasian National University and Renaissance University.
Students of grades 6 and 8 from Lyceum School No. 207 and General Education Schools No. 82 and No. 157 in Almaty took part in the forum and delivered presentations. School students presented their views on such important life categories as the meaning of life, first love, happiness, and family. The topics of the presentations generated strong interest among the audience and became the subject of active discussion. Participants demonstrated a high level of reflection and the ability to respond to questions in a reasoned manner, which is especially important in the context of developing communicative and research competencies.
The winners and prize-winners of the symposium in the school and student categories were:
First-degree diploma – Ulpan Azamatkyzy (Secondary School No. 82 in Almaty).
Second-degree diploma – Umida Talkhatzhanova (Secondary School No. 82 in Almaty).
Third-degree diploma – Gleb Filippov, Roman Kalypov (Secondary School No. 82 in Almaty).
Certificate for active participation – Valeria Piryatinskaya (Secondary School No. 82 in Almaty), Zhasmin Beketbay (Secondary School No. 157 in Almaty).
In addition, within the framework of the Fourth International Online Lessons Marathon, an interactive session “The Alphabet of Meaning: Students and Master’s Students for Schoolchildren” was held, during which a mini-project titled “Love – What is it Love…” was carried out.
For their group work during the interactive session, high level of engagement, creativity, and original interpretation of the topic, participants were awarded personalized team diplomas of the first, second, and third degrees.
