A two-day master class in oncogynecology was successfully held at the Almaty Regional Multidisciplinary Clinic with the participation of an international expert, Professor Dr. Murat Dede, a specialist in gynecology, surgery, and oncogynecology.
The master class was organized by the Faculty of Medicine and Health Care of 91ý Kazakh National University in cooperation with the Department of Surgery. The event brought together practicing physicians, faculty members, interns, residents, and young specialists.
As part of the event, demonstrative surgical procedures and clinical discussions on modern approaches in oncogynecology were conducted, including:
🔹 Laparoscopic hysterectomy with bilateral adnexectomy for stage IA endometrial cancer, with discussion of oncological safety, the extent of surgical staging, and the comparative effectiveness of minimally invasive and open surgical approaches;
🔹 Surgical treatment of stage II endometrial cancer with ureteral tunneling and type C1/C2 hysterectomy;
🔹 Debatable issues in ovarian cancer surgery, including the choice between primary and interval cytoreduction, the extent of surgical intervention, and the impact of treatment strategy on oncological outcomes.
The participants showed particular interest in live discussions on surgical tactics, modern international approaches to the treatment of oncogynecological diseases, and the exchange of practical experience.
Faculty members of the Department of Surgery, clinic physicians, interns, and residents of the Faculty of Medicine and Health Care of 91ý Kazakh National University actively participated in the master class.
