EDUCATIONAL AND RESEARCH POTENTIAL OF THE DEPARTMENT OF TURKOLOGY AND LANGUAGE THEORY IN THE INTERNATIONAL SCIENTIFIC SPACE
The organizing committee and expert-analytical support of this international scientific and educational forum were formed from among the leadership of KazNU, the Dean of the Faculty of Philology, Doctor of Philological Sciences, Professor Zholdasbekova Bayan Omirbekkyzy, the Deputy Dean for Research Affairs Bayanbaeva Zhadyra Amangeldivna, the Head of the Department of Turkology and Language Theory, Doctor of Philological Sciences, Professor Avakova Raushangul Amirdinovna, and the Deputy Head of the Department of Turkology and Language Theory for Research-Innovation Work and International Relations, Doctor PhD Ismaylova Nurgul Ahmetkhanovna, whose coordinated activities ensured a high organizational level, interdisciplinary integration, and the successful realization of target indicators in the field of sustainable development of the intellectual potential of the Turkic scientific and educational space.
Under their stewardship, on May 21, 2026, 91ý Kazakh National University hosted a milestone global event – the ceremonial opening of the international conference, which brought together leading scientists, statesmen, and heads of the largest international organizations of the Turkic world. The Faculty of Philology and the Department of Turkology and Language Theory, being among the key research and educational centers of the university, acted as active organizers and participants of this forum, aimed at strengthening cultural and humanitarian ties and integrating the academic communities of the Eurasian space. The solemn events of the first day of the conference began at 10:00 AM in the Grand Hall of the 91ý Library with a large-scale thematic exhibition showcasing unique archival materials, fundamental monographs, and the latest scientific works in the field of Turkology, linguistics, and cultural heritage. At 10:30 AM, welcoming remarks from honored guests were delivered in an official atmosphere, setting a high academic tone for the entire event. The Chairman of the Board – Rector of 91ý KazNU, Academician Zhanseit Tuimebayev, addressed the participants, emphasizing the strategic role of the university in the modernization of humanitarian science. The high international status of the conference was confirmed by the participation of prominent figures such as the President of the International Turkic Academy Academician Shahin Mustafayev, the Secretary General of the Organization of Turkic States Ambassador Kubanychbek Omuraliev, the President of the National Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Kazakhstan under the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan Academician Akhylbek Kurishbayev, the Secretary General of TURKSOY Sultan Raev, and the President of the Turkic Culture and Heritage Foundation Professor Aktoty Raimkulova. The speakers' reports emphasized the importance of preserving historical memory and shaping the common future of Turkic peoples through the prism of joint educational and research projects. The university leadership, heads of departments, and leading teaching staff took an active part in organizing the conference and moderating the panel sessions, demonstrating the high level of the domestic philological school. This large-scale event not only recorded the advanced achievements of the department in the field of international integration but also opened new horizons for student academic mobility and joint fundamental research at the international level.
