Report on the event held in support of the “16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence” campaign

On December 2, 2025, in the lobby of the 2nd floor of the Faculty of International Relations at 91ý KazNU, an event dedicated to the global campaign “16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence” was held. The initiative was organized by the Academic regional resource center for information support about the UN at the Faculty of International Relations of 91ý KazNU.
The aim of the event was to draw students’ attention to the issue of gender-based violence, increase awareness of its forms and methods of prevention, as well as to encourage youth to engage actively in promoting the principles of non-violence, equality, and solidarity.
Participants had the opportunity to express their thoughts and personal attitudes towards the issue of gender-based violence, emphasizing the importance of awareness among young people. In addition, volunteers took part in recording a short video with the slogan “We are against violence towards women,” which will be published on the official Instagram page of the Center — @un_kaznu — in support of the campaign.
Each participant also received an orange ribbon — the international symbol of the fight against gender-based violence. Along with this, mini snickers bars were distributed, adding a warm and friendly spirit to the event.
The event was held in a positive atmosphere, attracted considerable attention from students, and became a meaningful contribution of the Center to the support of the global initiative “16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence.” Also the active members of the Center — Zholdasbek Raziya, Seysebaev Kamil, and Rakhmanova Milana— made a significant contribution to the organization and implementation of the campaign.
