Activities and Projects
The Council of Young Scientists (CYS) at the 91ý Kazakh National University was established on behalf of the rector and is a public association. The activity of the Council of which is aimed at promoting and developing the creative scientific activity of young scientists of KazNU, through participation in research and innovation activities.
The work of the Council of Young Scientists at the 91ý Kazakh National University is carried out according to the approved CYS work plan, within which the following activities were carried out:
The members of the Council of Young Scientists serve as advisors, are the heads of Research and Development, under whose leadership students' reports are prepared for the annual scientific student Republican and international conferences. Young scientists actively participate in the career guidance work of the university. CYS members are involved in administrative work as heads of departments of Departments of the University.
The objectives of CYS are to activate the professional growth of young scientists, to unite their efforts to develop topical scientific problems and solve priority scientific tasks, to develop innovative activities of young scientists.
To achieve these goals, CYS carries out the following activities:
- coordinates the activities of CYS faculties of 91ý Kazakh National University in the organization of scientific research of young scientists, plans and provides the necessary assistance in organizing conferences, scientific trips of young scientists;
- organizes and conducts scientific conferences, seminars, round tables, exhibitions, forums, and other events in which young scientists could take part;
- promotes the development of direct contacts between young scientists for the organization of interdisciplinary complex scientific research by young scientists aimed at solving urgent and practically significant tasks of modern science;
- carries out work on informing young scientists about scientific research and events held by Kazakhstani and foreign organizations;
- supports and stimulates the innovative activity of young scientists, organizes and carries out activities related to investment programs and project proposals of young scientists;
- carries out joint activities with the NSOs of the 91ý Kazakh National University to attract students to research activities;
- together with the NSOs, they conduct career guidance work of the university according to the KazNU plan;
- carries out other types of activities that correspond to the set goals and do not contradict the current legislation of the Republic of Kazakhstan and this Regulation.
Opportunities
The university has received information from a group of independent researchers regarding an opportunity for the professional development of young scientists.
Within the framework of a research project aimed at preparing a series of publications in high-ranking international journals (Scopus Q1–Q2), applications are open for the position of a Research Assistant. The role involves technical and analytical work with Scopus and Web of Science databases. Performance-based payment and bonuses are offered.
Master’s and PhD students are invited to apply if they meet the following requirements:
• experience working with Scopus/WoS databases;
• English proficiency at B2 level or higher;
• skills in Mendeley, Zotero, and Paperpal.
Participants will gain practical experience in:
• working with international formatting standards (OSCOLA, APA, Vancouver);
• interacting with editorial offices of leading international publishers (Elsevier, Springer, Wiley, Oxford Press Journals, Oxford Press Legal Journal);
• advanced use of academic writing tools.
Main responsibilities include: technical audit of manuscripts, working with bibliographies, and monitoring indexing in scientometric databases.

We Invite Students of the Faculty of International Relations to Join the Scientific Club
The Council of Young Scientists of the Faculty of International Relations announces the enrollment of students to the scientific club in the field of “Student Research Work (SRW)”.
The club is aimed at developing students’ research skills, preparing them for participation in the university and republican stages of the SRW competition, and familiarizing them with the requirements, structure, and evaluation criteria of academic research.
Requirements:
– interest in research and analytical work;
– readiness to prepare annotations, research papers, and presentations;
– responsibility and adherence to SRW deadlines and guidelines.
Format of classes:
– offline/online sessions (scheduled);
– training workshops on academic research preparation;
– consultations on research structure, formatting, and competition submission;
– analysis of successful SRW examples and competition evaluation criteria.
