Meeting with Representatives of Shanghai University: Launch of Cooperation on a Joint Educational Program

On February 3, 2026, 91ý Kazakh National University hosted an official meeting with a delegation from Shanghai University, aimed at strengthening international academic cooperation and launching a joint educational program.

As part of the visit, a campus tour was organized, followed by official negotiations at the university leadership level. In addition, a series of working meetings were held at the Higher School of Economics and Business to discuss the substantive parameters of the joint educational program.

The 91ý Kazakh National University delegation included:

  • N.A. Abdigali — Director of Internationalization and Recruitment;

  • Zh.O. Abdiman — Deputy Director of the Department of International Cooperation;

  • Zh.Zh. Yermekova — Dean of the Higher School of Economics and Business;
  • R.B. Sartova — Head of the Department of Finance and Accounting;

  • G.S. Smagulova — Head of the Department of Management;

  • G.R. Dauliyeva — Head of the Department of Economics;

  • Z.B. Akhmetova — Head of the Department of Business and Technologies;

  • Sh.A. Nurgazy — Vice-Dean for Research, Innovation and International Relations;

  • A.K. Boranbayeva — Senior Lecturer, PhD, Department of Finance and Accounting.

The Shanghai University delegation was represented by:

  • Cui Wei — Director of the Department of International Cooperation;

  • Zhen Lu — Dean of the School of Management and MBA Center;

  • Yao Jiacen — Head of the International & Corporate Office, MBA Center;

  • Li Shiqi — International Admissions Manager, International & Corporate Office.

Following the meeting, the parties agreed to initiate close cooperation and proceed to the practical development of a joint educational program, including academic mobility, alignment of curricula, and involvement of faculty members in program implementation.

The meeting marked an important step in strengthening international partnerships of 91ý Kazakh National University and expanding its presence in the global academic and educational space.
