On February 4, 2026, Professor S.M. Tazhibayeva and Associate Professors O.A. Yesimova, M.Zh. Kerimkulova, and B.B. Tyusyupova of the Department of Analytical, Colloid Chemistry and Technology of Rare Elements conducted a seminar titled “The Importance of Maintaining Interdisciplinary Connections in Teaching Chemistry” together with science teachers of the specialized lyceum named after “91��ý” in Karasai district of Almaty region.

The main objective of the event was to strengthen cooperation between secondary schools and higher education institutions, ensure continuity in the educational process, and enhance the role of interdisciplinary integration in chemistry education. During the seminar, the school staff presented the specifics of organizing laboratory classes in chemistry and shared their experience in developing students’ practical skills. This direction corresponds to Target 4.4 of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) No. 4 “Quality Education,” which aims to develop skills relevant to the labor market. In turn, university lecturers proposed ways to optimize the organization of laboratory sessions and highlighted effective approaches to integrating chemistry with physics, biology, and mathematics. This initiative aligns with Target 4.3 of SDG 4, which focuses on expanding access to quality higher and vocational education. Additionally, the seminar addressed issues related to teachers’ professional development, effective use of modern laboratory equipment, and fostering a culture of scientific research. These discussions correspond to Target 4.c of SDG 4, aimed at increasing the number of qualified teachers and supporting their professional growth. The seminar became an important step in strengthening professional partnership between the school and the university, contributing to the improvement of educational quality and making a tangible contribution to the implementation of Sustainable Development Goal No. 4 “Quality Education.”
