“Clean Kazakhstan” enhances the country’s reputation

A meeting was held with the residents of Student Dormitory No. 6. During the meeting, it was emphasized that our President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev’s “Clean Kazakhstan” initiative is reviving the environmental awareness preserved in the nation’s memory and giving it a new meaning. We believe that responding to and supporting this initiative, as well as protecting the environment, is the filial duty of today’s generation to their homeland and country. This initiative is a systemic change that will renew the beautiful image of Kazakhstan, raise citizens’ quality of life to a new level, and even positively transform our people’s way of living—having a beneficial impact on behavior and mindset.

“Clean Kazakhstan” will also have a positive effect on enhancing our country’s international reputation. It demonstrates to the world the Kazakh people’s care for nature, their inclination toward goodness, and their generosity, sincerity, and purity of intention. Even something that may seem minor at first glance has repeatedly caused resonance on foreign social media and impressed others: after various sporting events in different countries, Kazakh fans have been seen cleaning up the section where they sat—collecting and taking away the trash.

Such examples show that kindness, care, cleanliness, and goodwill are our national characteristics. The “Clean Kazakhstan” initiative plays a major role in preserving these valuable qualities and instilling them firmly in the younger generation.

A new environmental culture is taking shape in society. The consciousness of the entire nation is beginning to change. Of course, this is encouraging.

For Kazakhs, cleanliness is a sacred concept. A person with a чистая совесть (pure conscience) will not cross moral boundaries and will not betray either family or homeland. We often say, “Kazakhstan is our common home!” If so, our country—our shared home—must be clean, attractive, and comfortable. For this, cleanliness must begin in every home and every courtyard. Deep within these words lie revered, guiding values—unwritten laws—that should be passed to the younger generation as an example and a lesson. Endless thanks to the senior generation of teachers who set a worthy example through their own conduct and provide meaningful guidance. During university clean-up days, they regularly take part in cleaning the areas around academic buildings and nearby streets and in planting seedlings, setting a visible example.

Our President K.-Zh.K. Tokayev says: “We have no other homeland but Kazakhstan. No one from outside will come to clean and beautify our native land. Keeping our homeland clean is the sacred duty of every citizen.”

In today’s era dominated by the internet, it is important to teach young people to work and to value cleanliness; otherwise, laziness may take over. “Clean Kazakhstan” is a manifestation of true patriotism. In a highly cultured society, both nature and people’s worldview will undoubtedly be clean.

Clean Kazakhstan fosters a firm attitude in society—especially among the younger generation—toward a culture of cleanliness, caring for the environment, and protecting urban property. The main driving force of “Clean Kazakhstan” is the people. Today, it has become a consistent ideological principle of the entire nation, capable of elevating our future spiritual identity to a higher level of civilization. Then, when the world hears “Kazakh” or “Kazakhstan,” it will first envision a beautiful country where cleanliness, harmony with nature, and moral upbringing are cherished as core values. “Clean Kazakhstan” must become a way of life for us from now on!
