"As President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev noted, higher education institutions, along with education and science, should develop innovations, directing scientific achievements to the benefit of production and society. This is an important condition for the country's sustainable development. In this process, the press services of universities have a great responsibility",- the head of the university emphasized.

According to the rector, the consolidation of the principles of freedom of speech and media independence in the draft new Constitution, as well as the guarantee of the right to receive and disseminate information, will become the foundation for building an open society. Zhanseit Kanseituly noted that today the university's authority is measured not only by ratings, but also by its image in the information space. Therefore, in the era of digitalization, press secretaries and media professionals must offer high-quality content, strengthening the link between the educational institution and society.

Director of the Department of Public Relations, Press Secretary of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan Arman Zhunusov delivered a report at the event. He elaborated on the formats of interaction with the media and presented methods of comprehensive media support for constitutional reforms. In addition, he spoke about the work on the implementation of the ideological platforms "Law and Order" and "Adal Azamat" initiated by the Head of State, as well as the promotion of the environmental initiative "Taza Kazakhstan". "These initiatives form a single value basis of state policy aimed at educating a generation focused on respect for the law, honesty and creative work," the press secretary said. Universities are key institutions for the implementation of state ideological policy. A special role in this work is assigned to the press services, they form an information environment in which the norms of legality and integrity become a natural part of university culture".

Also during the meeting, Karlygash Kalybekkyzy, Head of the Department of Analysis, Monitoring and Interaction with the Media of the Department of Public Relations of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Kazakhstan, focused on the issues of prompt and reliable coverage of university news, wide promotion of academic achievements. She stressed the importance of developing a specific media plan and pre-planning content to systematize information work. In addition, the need for effective use of social networks, regular updating of the content of official websites, as well as the widespread use of video materials and infographics was noted.

 

 

In turn, the press secretaries asked questions about increasing the influence of universities in the media space and presented a number of specific proposals.

Following the meeting, an agreement was reached on the creation of sustainable professional cooperation between the press services of universities, the formation of a unified information platform and the implementation of joint projects. Proposals to organize regular training seminars for press secretaries, develop a unified media plan, and improve the quality of digital content were also supported.

Communication specialists also got acquainted with the activities of the University's Information and Communications Department, the scientific potential of the Kazakh-Chinese joint laboratory "Remote Sensing Technologies and their Applications", as well as the Farabi supercomputer.

The guests also visited the KUKA Robotics, HUIBO Robotics, and Farabi Supercomputing Centers and exchanged views with scientists.
