Scientific cooperation with Israel is expanding
A landmark meeting of the Chairman of the Board, Rector Zhanseit Tuimebayev, with the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the State of Israel to the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Kyrgyz Republic, Mr. Yoav Bystritsky, took place at the Al-Farabi Kazakh National University.
During the negotiations, Zhanseit Tuimebayev emphasized the university's high status as a leading research university, noting its achievements in the international arena. "KazNU is among the Top 200 best universities in the world, ranking 166th in the QS WUR 2026 ranking. Our scientific infrastructure includes 8 research institutes, 140 laboratories and 29 research centers. Currently, the implementation of the 2nd stage of construction of the KazNU campus is in full swing, as a result of which the university campus will be transformed, new facilities and dormitories will be built. We are interested in fruitful partnership with high–tech centers and universities in Israel",- the rector emphasized.

Special attention was paid to expanding ties with Israeli partner universities: Holon Institute of Technology, University of Haifa and Bar-Ilan University. The Rector elaborated on the success of academic mobility, mentioning scientific internships for doctoral and undergraduate students of KazNU in leading Israeli centers, as well as plans to launch innovative double-degree programs in the field of engineering and information technology.

In turn, Mr. Yoav Bystritsky expressed the Israeli side's interest in intensifying educational exchanges. During the conversation, the Ambassador focused on the readiness of Israeli universities to accept Kazakhstani students. "We see great potential in combining the efforts of our scientists. Israel is open to joint initiatives that will become a bridge for the transfer of knowledge and technology," the diplomat said.

The parties discussed concrete steps to implement joint projects, including inviting Israeli professors to lead PhD students. At the end of the meeting, Zhanseit Tuimebayev thanked Mr. Yoav Bystritsky for the visit, expressing confidence that the agreements reached would give a powerful impetus to the development of scientific and educational dialogue between the two countries.
