KazNU received valuable books from the Matenadaran Institute of Ancient Manuscripts
The delegation of the Mesrop Mashtots Matenadaran Institute of Ancient Manuscripts, which was on an official visit to the University, donated valuable books to the al-Farabi Kazakh National University. The rector of the university, Zhanseit Tuimebayev, took part in the event.
During the meeting, the rector stressed the importance of bilateral cooperation. "Today's meeting is an important step towards the revival of the spiritual heritage of our countries. Matenadaran is a unique scientific center with a special place in the history of world civilization. It is extremely important for us to share our experience in studying, preserving and introducing ancient manuscripts into scientific circulation. Our scientists are ready to work with you in the field of Oriental studies, Turkology and history," said Rector of the university Zhanseit Tuimebayev.
For his part, Director of the Matenadaran Araik Khzmalyan thanked the university staff for the warm welcome and spoke about the history of the institute. According to him, since its foundation, Matenadaran has been collecting, preserving and studying the written heritage of the Armenian and world peoples, and today its collections contain tens of thousands of ancient manuscripts and archival documents. He also noted that historical and cultural ties between the Kazakh and Armenian peoples have been developing for centuries on the basis of mutual respect and spiritual continuity.
