Alexey Tsoi, Adviser to the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan on Social Issues, paid a working visit to Al-Farabi Kazakh National University.

The purpose of the visit was to get acquainted with the research potential of the country's leading university and the progress of projects to modernize the infrastructure of the university campus.

The stay program began with a large-scale campus tour. Alexey Tsoi was shown the work of ten advanced laboratories of the Scientific Center for Sustainable Development and Rational Use of Natural Resources, as well as unique technological platforms: the Farabi Supercomputer Center, the Brain Institute and the joint Kazakh-Chinese remote Sensing Laboratory. The adviser's special attention was drawn to the KUKA and HUIBO robotics centers, as well as the Research Center for Medicinal Plants, where applied developments for domestic medicine are conducted.

The key event of the visit was the official meeting of the adviser with the Chairman of the Board – Rector of KazNU Zhanseit Tuimebayev, who spoke in detail about the transformation of the university into a world-class research university. "Today, KazNU is a driver not only of education, but also of social modernization. We are actively building new dormitories, academic buildings and infrastructure reconstruction. Our task is to create a modern and comfortable ecosystem for young people, which will be the key to high–quality human capital for the country",- the rector emphasized.

In turn, Alexey Tsoi praised the university's innovation activities and its contribution to the development of the social sphere. During his speech, the adviser noted that the Head of State pays priority attention to issues of science and the well-being of students.

Noting the potential of laboratories and high-tech industries such as Farabi Chem and IT project offices, he stressed that the development of such educational hubs is a strategic priority to ensure the social stability of Kazakhstan.

At the end of the visit, the parties discussed the prospects for the university's further participation in the implementation of state social initiatives and confirmed their readiness for close cooperation in the training of new generation personnel.
