Academic ties with Turkish universities will expand
The Al-Farabi Kazakh National University was visited by a delegation led by the Consul General of Turkiye in Almaty, Tugba Alan Ozden Fedakar.
During the visit, the distinguished guests met with the university's leadership, aimed at actively developing bilateral cooperation in the scientific, educational and cultural fields.
In his welcoming speech, Chairman of the Board – Rector of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University Zhanseit Tuimebayev noted that the university is steadily developing international partnerships with Turkish universities, academic mobility programs, and often hosts prominent Turkish figures, including such figures as former Turkish President Abdullah Gul and head of the Presidential Administration Metin Kiratli.

The head of the university considers it promising to launch joint double-degree programs between KazNU and leading universities in Turkiye in priority areas of personnel training. He also proposed to initiate the creation of joint research centers and laboratories in the fields of digital technologies, medicine, biotechnology, energy and Turkology with the involvement of grant funding and the participation of scientists from both countries.

The Consul General of the Republic of Turkiye in Almaty, Tugba Alan Ozdenfedakar, in turn, stressed the importance of developing a dialogue between higher education institutions of the two countries and expressed readiness to support joint projects in the field of education, science and culture. He emphasized the potential of Turkiye as a partner of KazNU in the training of qualified personnel and the creation of joint research centers.

During the meeting, the parties also discussed the development of academic exchange, joint scientific and educational projects and the exchange of students and teachers within the framework of the existing Erasmus+, Orkhon and other forms of interaction programs.
At the end of the meeting, the parties confirmed their intention to continue the dialogue in the format of bilateral visits and joint events.
