On February 19, 2026, a curatorial session titled “Tolerance and Mutual Respect” was held for second-year students of the educational program “Industrial Electronics and Control Systems” at the Faculty of Physics and Technology of 91ý Kazakh National University. The event was aimed at fostering a culture of respectful communication, strengthening social responsibility, and promoting the values of tolerance among students.
During the meeting, students were provided with a detailed explanation of the concept and significance of tolerance, as well as the role of mutual respect in contemporary society. The curator emphasized that tolerance represents an essential principle for harmonious coexistence in a multicultural and multinational environment. Particular attention was given to the development of students’ interpersonal communication skills, respect for diverse viewpoints, and the ability to resolve conflicts constructively.
Throughout the curatorial session, participants examined practical examples of appropriate behavior in various social contexts, including public spaces, educational environments, and family life. Students discussed the principles of ethical communication, the importance of respectful interaction with others, and the need to adhere to norms of academic and social ethics. The curator highlighted that the cultivation of a culture of tolerance contributes to strengthening trust among individuals, creating a positive environment for collaboration, and improving the effectiveness of collective work.
Special emphasis was placed on the responsibility of each individual in fostering a positive and respectful social environment. The session underscored the importance of patience, understanding, and responsibility in interpersonal communication. Participants discussed how tolerance plays a significant role in shaping a constructive academic environment and noted that respect for diverse opinions and cultural backgrounds enhances mutual understanding and supports the development of a cohesive academic community.
As part of the interactive component of the event, students actively shared their perspectives and discussed various communication scenarios that may arise in everyday life. They proposed constructive approaches to resolving such situations and reflected on the importance of respectful dialogue and responsible behavior. The discussion helped participants gain a deeper understanding of how tolerance and mutual respect contribute to building trust, preventing conflicts, and maintaining a healthy social climate within the educational environment.
The organization of such curatorial sessions is also closely aligned with the implementation of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). In particular, the event contributes to SDG 4 — Quality Education, which promotes the development of social skills, civic responsibility, and respect for diversity among students. In addition, discussions emphasizing peaceful interaction and mutual understanding support SDG 16 — Peace, Justice and Strong Institutions, which aims to foster peaceful and inclusive societies.
At the conclusion of the event, participants emphasized that such initiatives play an important role in the educational and developmental activities of the university. The active involvement of students, open discussions, and the analysis of real-life situations helped create an atmosphere of trust and mutual respect. The curatorial session “Tolerance and Mutual Respect” therefore became an important step toward strengthening students’ awareness of social responsibility, promoting ethical communication, and supporting the harmonious development of society.
