Zhaksykhanov, Head of the “KEREMET” Medical Center. Associate Professors of the Department of General and Inorganic Chemistry L.K. Beisembaeva, R.G. Ryskaliyeva, O.I. Ponomarenko, and B.D. Balgysheva helped organize the event. The event was also attended by the Deputy Dean of the Faculty for Social and Educational Work, G.Zh. Zhaxylykova. Overall, organizing such lectures is essential for students, especially when first-year students come from all over the region and are just beginning to adjust to their new environment. It's extremely helpful to provide support, clarify various issues, and lecture on specific topics. Drug addiction is currently one of the most pressing issues of our time. This has serious consequences not only for the individual but also for society and the state. The social and economic consequences of drug addiction are extremely diverse. Today, it is essential to conduct a thorough analysis of its impact on individual lives, society, and the economy. The primary and most dangerous consequence of drug addiction is psychosocial stress. Drug addicts face many difficulties in their personal lives, which also places a heavy burden on their families. They cease to be full members of society, and their relationships with family and other members of society are disrupted. Problems such as social disruption, depression, and mental health issues complicate the lives of drug addicts. Drug addiction is particularly prevalent among young people, negatively impacting their education, employment, and future prospects. Furthermore, the prevalence of drug addiction among young people affects the future development of society as a whole. The socioeconomic consequences of drug addiction are far-reaching. This has serious implications not only for the individual but also for society and the state. Addressing this problem requires comprehensive measures at all levels: legal, medical, social, and preventive. Only through joint efforts can we eradicate the consequences of drug addiction and prevent its spread in society. Depression is a common mental disorder that affects a person's mood, thinking, and behavior. Suicide is often the result of profound psychological stress, hopelessness, and loneliness. These two problems are closely linked and have become a pressing social issue in modern society. Therefore, it is important to strengthen psychological support services in higher education institutions. Creating a culture of open communication is one of the key ways to prevent this.
