“The Digital Future of a Clean Kazakhstan”

On February 25, 2026, the Department of Civil Law, Civil Procedure and Labor Law of the Faculty of Law at 91ý Kazakh National University held a round table dedicated to the national campaign “Taza Qazaqstan” (“Clean Kazakhstan”). This initiative is a large-scale environmental project implemented throughout the country with the aim of improving the ecological situation, increasing citizens’ responsibility for the state of the environment, and fostering a sustainable environmental culture. Second-year students and members of the academic staff of the department actively participated in the event.

During the round table, participants discussed current issues of environmental safety, legal mechanisms for environmental protection, the role of civil society in ensuring sustainable development, and the importance of environmental education for young people. Particular attention was paid to the legal regulation of rational use of natural resources and to the development of environmental responsibility as an integral element of the legal culture of future lawyers.

“Taza Qazaqstan” provides an opportunity to express an active civic position, strengthen patriotism, and deepen attachment to one’s native land. Environmental education at universities, joint initiatives, campaigns, and creative competitions contribute to shaping a new generation for whom responsible attitudes toward nature become a natural norm of both professional and personal conduct.

As noted by the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, “Taza Qazaqstan” is not only an environmental initiative but also an important socio-political project aimed at consolidating society around a common goal: improving cities and rural areas, raising environmental awareness, and strengthening public solidarity.

The participants of the round table emphasized that the successful implementation of the campaign’s objectives is impossible without the active involvement of young people, the development of legal awareness, and the strengthening of interdepartmental cooperation. Future lawyers expressed their readiness to participate in environmental campaigns, events, and research projects aimed at improving environmental legislation.

This concept reflects a modern approach to the country’s sustainable development — rational use of natural resources, improvement of the quality of life, and reinforcement of social cohesion. Holding such events at the Faculty of Law contributes to the formation of students’ conscious civic stance, a deeper understanding of the interconnection between law and ecology, and their readiness to apply acquired knowledge for the benefit of society and the state.
