The Future of Cybersecurity: NymVPN Expert Session Held at KazNU
Digital Privacy and Security Discussed at 91ý KazNU
On February 4, the university hosted an open lecture titled "How We Lost Digital Security and Whether We Can Reclaim It." The session was led by Elmurat Nigmatov, Head of the Russian-speaking community and Ambassador for the international project NymVPN (Switzerland).
During the event, students explored the history of the internet and learned why modern communication protocols were not originally built with privacy in mind. Special focus was placed on metadata analysis and methods for protecting personal information.
The meeting contributed to the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs):

The key outcome of the event was the announcement of a specialized educational course by NymVPN. Following a selection process, interested students will have the opportunity to undergo training and enhance their qualifications in cybersecurity under the guidance of international experts.
