ONLINE SCIENTIFIC SEMINAR HELD AT THE DEPARTMENT OF TURKOLOGY AND HISTORY OF EASTERN COUNTRIES
On February 27, 2026, an online scientific seminar was held at the Department of Turkology and History of Eastern Countries of the Faculty of Oriental Studies, 91ý Kazakh National University, with the participation of second-year master’s students and doctoral candidates. The event took place at 10:00 a.m. via the Zoom platform within the framework of the Sustainable Development Goals, Goal 4 — Quality Education.
The main objective of the seminar was to enhance the research potential of young scholars, discuss актуальные issues related to dissertation studies, and promote interdisciplinary academic dialogue. During the seminar, master’s student Ukibay Bibol Bauyrzhanuly delivered a presentation entitled “Central Asia in Turkey’s Foreign Policy,” analyzing regional geopolitical processes and strategic partnership issues.
Doctoral candidate Ongar Ayaulym presented a paper on “Theoretical Foundations of Conceptual Tolerance in Political Discourse,” focusing on the theoretical aspects of tolerance in contemporary political communication. Doctoral candidate Ertay Zhomart, in his presentation “The Jadid Enlightenment Movement and the National Mission of the Kazakh Intelligentsia,” highlighted the role of historical and educational processes in shaping national consciousness.
In addition, Dana Beketova delivered a presentation entitled “Holy Women of the Kazakhs: Transcendental Values and Socio-Educational Practices,” providing a scholarly interpretation of the spiritual and cultural significance of sacredness. Venera Yuldasheva presented “Kazakh and Turkish Jewelry: Etymology and Semantics of Household Items,” analyzing issues of material culture and linguistic-cultural continuity.

The presented papers were distinguished by their relevance, theoretical depth, and interdisciplinary approach. The seminar was conducted at a high academic level and served as a valuable platform for scholarly discussion and exchange of research ideas.
