“Nauryz – the Beginning of Prosperity and Abundance”

A curatorial educational session titled “Nauryz – the Beginning of Prosperity and Abundance” was conducted for first-year students of the “Computer Engineering” and “Computer Science” programs. Considering the multinational composition of the group, the event was aimed not only at fostering respect for national traditions, cultural heritage, and spiritual values, but also at promoting intercultural dialogue.

During the session, students were introduced to the history of the Nauryz holiday and its significance as a symbol of nature’s renewal and the arrival of spring. The holiday was also discussed as a representation of a new stage in life, as well as a symbol of unity, harmony, mutual respect, and understanding among people. Particular emphasis was placed on the unifying role of this celebration within a multicultural educational environment.

As part of the session, traditional values of the Kazakh people—such as hospitality, kindness, respect for elders, care for the younger generation, and mutual assistance—were explored. Students discussed the relevance of these traditions in modern society. Additionally, information was provided about Nauryz customs, including the preparation of Nauryz kozhe and its symbolic meaning, contributing to a deeper understanding of both Kazakh culture and universal values.

Interactive teaching methods were widely used throughout the session: students engaged in group activities, exchanged ideas, and expressed their thoughts freely. The diversity of cultural perspectives enriched the discussion and contributed to the development of critical thinking, communication skills, and tolerance among students.

The event had a positive impact on strengthening group cohesion, fostering friendly relationships, and promoting respectful interaction within a multicultural student environment. It was especially beneficial for first-year students adapting to a new academic setting, helping to create a supportive and positive psychological atmosphere within the group.

Thus, the educational session “Nauryz – the Beginning of Prosperity and Abundance” proved to be an effective and meaningful activity aimed at developing students’ moral and spiritual values, enhancing intercultural understanding, and promoting national traditions.
