A curatorial hour on the topic “野谢褘褋褌褘遥 冶谢褘 泻爷薪褨 – a celebration of national unity and spiritual harmony” was organized and conducted with third-year students (Kazakh-medium group) of the Data Science educational program. The event was supervised by advisor Bazarbe泻 Zhanyia.
The main objective of the curatorial session was to broaden students’ understanding of the Nauryz holiday, to provide a deeper insight into its historical, cultural, and spiritual significance, and to foster a sense of patriotism, unity, and harmony among young people through the promotion of national values. Nauryz is not only a celebration of the arrival of spring and the renewal of nature, but also a symbol of friendship, mutual respect, and harmony among peoples.
During the event, students explored the historical origins of Nauryz, highlighting its ancient roots. In addition, national traditions and customs were widely discussed, including the preparation of Nauryz kozhe, the tradition of “Korisu” (mutual greetings), and respect for elders. Students actively shared their opinions and exchanged views on the role and relevance of the holiday in modern society.
The curatorial hour was conducted in an interactive format, encouraging active student participation. Discussions, Q&A sessions, and small group activities were organized, allowing every student’s voice to be heard. This contributed to the development of students’ critical thinking skills, their ability to justify their viewpoints, and the improvement of their public speaking abilities.
