Students of 91ý Kazakh National University - Winners of the International Competition “Best Student of Central Asia”
On March 21, 2026, the international competition “Best Student of Central Asia” was held in Astana, bringing together talented and promising youth from across the region. The event aimed to promote youth policy development, support the scientific and intellectual potential of students, and strengthen cooperation among Central Asian countries. The competition was organized by the Republican Innovation Center “Zhаña Qazaqstan,” which actively implements initiatives in education and youth development.
In Kazakhstan, the international competition “Best Student of Central Asia” (as well as the “Best Student of Middle Asia” competition) is organized by the National Innovation Research Center “Bilim-orkenieti” in collaboration with the “Academy of Best Students” and the Republican Innovation Center “Zhаña Qazaqstan.” These organizations have extensive experience in conducting educational and scientific events at the regional level. Their joint work focuses on identifying and supporting talented youth, developing students’ leadership skills, and establishing sustainable links between educational institutions in Central Asia.
Among the participants was Shakir Abilkhasuly Nuraliev, a first-year student of the Faculty of Philosophy and Political Science at 91ý Kazakh National University, majoring in Religious Studies. The preparation and substantive refinement of the student’s research work were carried out under the direct scientific supervision of Samal Mukhametalikyzy Kaupenbayeva, PhD in Philosophy, Deputy Head for Academic, Methodological, and Educational Affairs of the Department of Religious Studies and Cultural Studies, Faculty of Philosophy and Political Science. He demonstrated a high level of theoretical preparation, analytical abilities, and a strong interest in scientific research. As a result of the competition, Shakir was awarded the 1st-degree diploma, confirming the high academic standards of KazNU students.
The award ceremony took place within the framework of the forum “Best Student of Central Asia,” held on the same day in Astana. The forum brought together top students, young scientists, experts, and public figures from across the region, providing a platform to discuss key issues in education, science, youth policy, and the role of young professionals in modern society.
Special attention at the forum was given to developing leadership qualities among youth, enhancing scientific potential, and supporting initiatives aimed at the sustainable development of Central Asian countries. Participants had the opportunity to exchange experiences, present their projects, and establish new professional contacts.
The final event is traditionally held in Astana and gathers the most active and promising students from different countries in the region. The competitions provide participants with a unique opportunity to showcase their knowledge and skills, exchange experiences, build professional connections, and present innovative projects. With the support of the organizers, the forum and competition gain high prestige, becoming an important platform for advancing scientific and educational initiatives.
