The literary evening titled “Roads of Memory and Time” dedicated to a creative meeting with the writer Umit Tazhken.
On April 3, 2026, a literary evening titled “Roads of Memory and Time” was held at the Faculty of Philology of 91ý Kazakh National University, organized by the Department of Russian Philology and World Literature. The event was dedicated to a creative meeting with the writer Umit Tazhken. The organizers were Acting Associate Professor, PhD G.K. Tileubay, doctoral student M.M. Rakhimzhanova, and master’s students G.A. Bisembaeva and Chen Yu.

The evening took place in a warm, meaningful, and inspiring atmosphere, bringing together faculty members, doctoral and master’s students, as well as all admirers of contemporary Kazakhstani literature.
The event opened with a welcoming speech by the moderator, G.A. Bisembaeva, a master’s student of the Department of Russian Philology and World Literature. She emphasized the significance of literature as a special form of understanding the past, present, and future. The introduction set the tone for the entire evening, highlighting the key themes of the meeting—memory, time, human destiny, and spiritual search—which occupy a central place in Umit Tazhken’s work.
A welcoming address was also delivered by Aslan Zhamelevich Zhaksylykov, Doctor of Philological Sciences and Professor, who noted the importance of the writer’s work in the context of contemporary literature and its influence on shaping the spiritual values of youth.
Particular interest was generated by a biographical presentation prepared in a multimedia format. It showcased the key stages of the writer’s creative path—from the publication of her first book “Sacralization of Memory” to her recognition in literary circles. The author’s biography was revealed through materials and recollections of well-known literary figures, which added depth and vividness to the narrative. Participants learned about the multifaceted life journey of the writer, her professional development, and her contribution to the cultural and literary development of Kazakhstan.
The program continued with the screening of a book trailer that visually presented the author’s works: book covers, text excerpts, and artistic images reflecting the main motifs of her prose.
A significant part of the program was devoted to artistic readings of her short sketches and miniature stories. Doctoral student M.M. Rakhimzhanova and master’s student Chen Yu presented analytical and critical reflections on the writer’s work. The opinions of such researchers and authors as V. Savelyeva, B. Dzhilkibaev, Zh. Tolysbaeva, and Zh. Baimukhamedov were also voiced, emphasizing the philosophical depth, confessional nature of the prose, and attention to the inner world of a person. It was noted that Umit Tazhken’s works explore themes of ancestral memory, faith, loneliness, and the search for the meaning of life.
After that, the guest speaker was given the floor. She addressed the participants with a warm greeting and shared her thoughts on the role of literature in society. The interactive part of the meeting became one of the most lively and memorable segments. Participants actively asked questions about the themes of her works, the author’s worldview, the role of faith and destiny, and the specifics of the creative process. Umit Tazhken responded sincerely and in detail to each question, sharing her personal experience, reflections, and philosophical views. The dialogue turned out to be deep and trusting, allowing participants not only to better understand the author’s works but also to reflect on their own life values.
At the end of the event, the moderator summarized the meeting, emphasizing that literature remains an important space for inner growth and self-discovery. The participants expressed their gratitude to the guest for the meaningful conversation, sincerity, and the opportunity to connect with her creative world.
Thus, the literary evening “Roads of Memory and Time” became a significant cultural event, contributing to the development of interest in contemporary Kazakhstani literature, the strengthening of spiritual values, and dialogue between generations. The meeting left all attendees with deep impressions and inspiration for further exploration and reflection on the Artistic Word.
