"The Impact of Technology on the Lives of Youth: Opportunities and Obstacles of the Digital Age"

On April 6, 2026, at the Physics and Technical Faculty senior lecturers and professors of the department of foreign languages A.S.Rezhep, Sh.B.Gumarova, B.K.Issabayeva, A.S.Utebekova, B.M.Sayakova, D.Zh.Tektibayeva hosted a dynamic international roundtable discussion aligned with Sustainable Development Goal 4: Quality Education. The roundtable successfully blended presentations, videos, games, and discussions, drawing diverse international perspectives from Kazakhstan, Mongolia, Afghanistan, and Sudan.

The event, titled "The Impact of Technology on the Lives of Youth: Opportunities and Obstacles of the Digital Age," addressed critical issues including cyberbullying, gadget addiction, and ethical concerns surrounding AI use engaged participants through diverse formats. KAU students presented a compelling short video highlighting real-life impacts of technology, culminating in discussion prompts. This sparked a lively roundtable discussion among all attendees, debated addiction risks, and explored balanced AI integration in learning.

Presenters Sofya Tarasova and Ayazhan Kyzyr opened the session by outlining the topic's relevance in today's digital world, and stating the event's aim to foster discussion.

Anudari Choizhilsuren (Mongolia) provided insights into her country's current digital landscape, noting rapid gadget adoption alongside rising cyberbullying challenges. Sofiya Makhmetova examined the future implications for this generation. Aisha Abibulla analyzed technology's broader effects on youth mental health and social interactions, while Tabyldiyeva Kamila highlighted digital age opportunities. Wakil Ahmad Fayzi (Afghanistan) discussed the detrimental effects of excessive gadget use. Yerassyl Italmassov delved into gadget addiction mechanisms and coping strategies, followed by Kaletov Ulukbek and Nurym Inzhu's presentation on cyberbullying prevalence, prevention, and support systems. Ayman Abdelaziz Elias Babekir from Sudan explored AI's global and local impacts on youth.

The roundtable was supported by different games to recharge the atmosphere and the presentation of certificates to the round table participants.
