On April 6, 2026, a working meeting was held at the UNESCO Chair in Sustainable Development of the Faculty of Geography and Environmental Sciences with B. Kirkinbayeva, a career guidance specialist of Gymnasium No. 147 in the Almaly district of Almaty.

The meeting was attended by A.D. Baibotayeva, Deputy Head of the Department for Research and Innovation and International Relations, S.T. Kaldybayeva, Deputy for Academic, Methodological and Educational Work, and T.A. Bazarbayeva, Head of the Department.

During the meeting, current issues of career guidance among school students were discussed, particularly increasing students’ interest in the university’s educational programs and supporting informed career choices among senior students. 

Special attention was given to strengthening cooperation between the school and the university, organizing open lectures, master classes, meetings with scientists and faculty members, as well as involving students in scientific and educational events.

It was noted that the development of systematic career guidance contributes to achieving the goals of quality and accessible education and directly aligns with United Nations Sustainable Development Goals Goal 4: Quality Education, aimed at ensuring inclusive and equitable education and promoting lifelong learning opportunities for all.

As a result of the meeting, the parties agreed to actively cooperate and participate in various career guidance activities aimed at informing students about opportunities for higher education, scientific work, and professional development.

The implementation of joint initiatives will strengthen the partnership between the school and the university and support talented youth.
