On April 3, 2026, third-year students of the Faculty of Philology at 91ý Kazakh National University, enrolled in the educational program “Russian as a Foreign Language,” held a round table on the topic “Key Concepts of Russian Culture.”
This event became a significant occasion aimed at a deep understanding of the spiritual and historical foundations of Russian cultural tradition. The main goal of the meeting was not only to familiarize participants with facts but also to reveal the meanings underlying the national worldview.

The event opened with an introductory speech by Candidate of Philological Sciences, Assistant Professor of the Department of Russian Philology and World Literature at 91ý Kazakh National University, Kogay E.R. In the speech, such important concepts as “Soul,” “Fate,” “Motherland,” “Will,” “Freedom,” “Culture,” and “Sun” were highlighted. These notions were examined not only from a philosophical perspective but also through the lens of literature, art, and everyday life.
Students from Turkmenistan and the People’s Republic of China, studying in the aforementioned program, learned how these concepts are reflected in classical works as well as in folk traditions.
The interactive part of the round table attracted great interest. Under the guidance of curator-advisor Seitkazy E.A., the students were divided into groups, each analyzing one of the concepts. Creative presentations included mind maps, performances inspired by literary plots, music, and even elements of folk rituals.
The discussion, during which participants compared Russian cultural concepts with similar notions in Turkmen and Chinese cultures, also sparked lively interest. This allowed not only for a deeper understanding of the specifics of Russian tradition but also for recognizing universal values that unite people from different countries.
The event concluded with informal communication, where students shared their impressions and discussed the knowledge they had gained. Such meetings contribute to the development of critical thinking, cultural awareness, and respect for the diversity of world traditions.
