The Department of Economics organized first section on the topic «Global Challenges of the Modern Era and Strategic Priorities: Human Capital, Digitalization, and Inclusive Development of Kazakhstan».
On April 7, the Higher School of Economics and Business of 91ý Kazakh National University hosted the 4th International Scientific and Practical Conference entitled “The Paradigm of Sustainable Economic Development in the Context of Global Changes: Challenges, Consequences, and Opportunities” within the framework of the 5th International Farabi Forum. As part of the conference, the Department of Economics organized the 1st section meeting on the topic “Global Challenges of the Modern Era and Strategic Priorities: Human Capital, Digitalization, and Inclusive Development of Kazakhstan.”
The section brought together domestic and international scholars, young researchers, and specialists. During the meeting, актуal presentations were delivered on regional development, digitalization, ESG, green development, the service sector, tourism, electronic services, and new approaches to assessing human capital in the context of global economic changes. The section also served as a platform for active academic exchange and meaningful discussion.
The following presentations were delivered during the section meeting:
David Celletti – “Industrial Clusters and Regional Development: The Experience of Northeastern Italy”(Italy). The presentation examined the impact of industrial clusters on regional development and highlighted the specific features of the Northeastern Italy experience. The speaker emphasized the role of the cluster model in enhancing the competitiveness of regional economies. Zokir Sayfiddinovich Artikov – “The Role of Trade in Services in Reducing Poverty and Improving Welfare” (Uzbekistan) The presentation analyzed the impact of trade in services on poverty reduction and the improvement of public welfare. It demonstrated the importance of the service sector in ensuring economic growth and social stability. Rysty Kuandykovna Sabirova – “Жасыл дамуменбайланысты экономикалық-экологиялық саясат”(Atyrau)
The presentation focused on the relationship between economic and environmental policy in the context of green development. It highlighted the importance of aligning environmental responsibility with economic mechanisms in order to ensure sustainable development.Rakhima Jamshedovna Kurbanova – “Modernization of service enterprises and improvement of service efficiency” (Uzbekistan)
The presentation discussed ways to modernize service enterprises and improve the quality of service delivery. The speaker underlined the role of modern management approaches and innovative solutions in increasing service efficiency.
Zukhra Ilkhamovna Sattarova – “Problems of Cultural Tourism Development in the Samarkand Region”(Uzbekistan)
The presentation addressed the main challenges of cultural tourism development in the Samarkand region. Particular attention was given to the effective use of the region’s tourism potential and the promotion of cultural heritage. Bakytkan Dauletbakov – “ESG трансформациясы — Қазақстандағы тұрақтыэкономикалық дамудың парадигмасы”
The presentation explored the significance of ESG principles in ensuring sustainable economic development in Kazakhstan. The speaker emphasized the importance of ESG transformation for business, society, and public policy. Zh.G. Imangali, S. Velesco, A.Zh. Panzabekova – “Digital Transformation of Regional Ecosystems as a Driver of Sustainable Economic Development in the Context of Global Change”
The presentation focused on the digital transformation of regional ecosystems. It substantiated the importance of digitalization as a driving force of sustainable economic development under global change. Nariman J. Hajiyev – “The Impact of E-Services on Sustainable Socio-Economic Development and Assessment of E-Government Efficiency” (Azerbaijan)
The presentation examined the influence of e-services on sustainable socio-economic development and the assessment of e-government efficiency. Special attention was paid to the role of digital services in improving the quality of public administration. Lo Hanxiuanuo – “Analysis of the Current Status of Digital Economy Development and Industrial Structure Transformation in Kazakhstan”
The presentation was devoted to the analysis of the current state of digital economy development and industrial structure transformation in Kazakhstan. It showed the interconnection between digitalization processes and the diversification of the national economy.
In addition, Yerulan Asentayuly Zhiyenbayev, on his own initiative, delivered a presentation entitled “A New Model of Human Capital in the Age of Artificial Intelligence: TOLYQ ADAM INDEX (TAI)”. The presentation introduced new approaches to assessing human capital in the era of artificial intelligence and presented the essence of the TOLYQ ADAM INDEX (TAI) concept.
The section meeting was held at a high academic level and proved to be both informative and productive. During the discussion of the presentations, participants exchanged views, raised questions on current issues, and shared their academic positions. The event became an important platform for discussing the challenges of economic development under global change, strengthening academic ties, and exchanging experience.
