Digitalization, ESG, and Artificial Intelligence: Key Outcomes of the International Conference in the Business Technologies Section
Digitalization, ESG, and AI: Key Results of the International Business Technology Section The Business Technology Department held Section 3, "Transformation of Business Technologies in the Context of Sustainable Development: Opportunities and Prospects," on April 7-8, 2026, as part of the V International Farabi Forum: IV International Scientific and Practical Annual Conference "The Paradigm of Sustainable Economic Development in the Context of Global Change: Challenges, Consequences, and Opportunities." The section focused on current issues of transforming business technologies in the context of sustainable development and global change. The section addressed current trends in digitalization, the implementation of artificial intelligence, the development of ESG approaches, as well as issues of business process management and logistics systems. The presentations were widely distributed. Businesspeople, scientists, and experts, practitioners from Kazakhstan, Russia, Portugal, Kyrgyzstan, and Uzbekistan, doctoral students, and faculty members of the Department participated in the section, ensuring a high level of scientific discussion and an international character. Presentations were delivered in three languages: Kazakh, English, and Russian. The following keynote addresses were presented during the section: - the influence of value orientations on environmental behavior within the framework of marketing research was examined; - the role of artificial intelligence in ensuring sustainable economic development in the context of global transformations was analyzed;
- modern technologies for managing financial flows in business processes were highlighted;
- territorial marketing approaches were presented in the context of ESG transformation;
- the conceptual foundations of digital enterprise management were examined; - the prospects for the development of a "green economy" and intelligent transport systems were analyzed;
- an analysis of factors influencing Kazakhstan's export potential was presented;
- the potential for applying blockchain technology in the national economy was discussed;
- adaptive logistics management algorithms in high-density urban environments were examined. The presentations were distinguished by their relevance, scientific novelty, and practical significance. During the discussion, section participants paid particular attention to the following issues:
- the integration of digital technologies into sustainable development; - Application of artificial intelligence in business process management;
- Development of ESG approaches in post-Soviet countries;
- Prospects for digitalization of logistics and transport infrastructure; - Institutional constraints and opportunities for economic growth. The discussion was active and constructive, with participants exchanging opinions and practical experiences. The following conclusions were reached at the end of the section:
1. Digital transformation is a key factor in sustainable economic development.
2. Artificial intelligence and modern IT solutions play an important role in improving the efficiency of business processes.
3. ESG approaches are becoming an important strategic management tool.
4. The development of logistics and transport systems requires the implementation of intelligent and adaptive technologies.
5. International cooperation facilitates knowledge sharing and the development of new scientific approaches. Based on the section's findings, it is recommended to:
- Expand the implementation of digital technologies in business and public administration;
- Develop scientific research in the field of sustainable development and ESG;
- stimulate international research projects and collaboration; - implement innovative solutions in logistics and transport infrastructure; - strengthen personnel training in the digital economy and business technologies. The section's work was conducted at a high scientific and organizational level.
The presentations and discussions confirmed the relevance of the issues under consideration and the need for further research in the field of business technology transformation in the context of sustainable development.
