Results of Section No. 5 “Modern Problems of Biotechnology” of the Conference “Farabi Alemi – 2026”
On April 7, 2026, within the framework of the International Scientific Conference of Students and Young Scientists “Farabi Alemi – 2026”, a meeting of Section No. 5 “Modern Problems of Biotechnology” was held.
The organizing committee included:

Secretary — Aisulu Zhaiykovna Zhuniszhan.
The section attracted significant interest among undergraduate, master’s, and doctoral students: a total of 77 abstracts were submitted from various universities in Kazakhstan. Among them: 1 abstract from M. O. Auezov South Kazakhstan University; 1 from Kazakh National Women’s Teacher Training University; 1 from LLP “Research and Production Center of Microbiology and Virology”; 2 from M. A. Aitkhozhin Institute of Molecular Biology and Biochemistry; 2 from Abai Kazakh National Pedagogical University; 2 from the School of Pharmacy, S. D. Asfendiyarov Kazakh National Medical University; 2 from Alikhan Bokeikhan University; 1 from Korkyt Ata Kyzylorda University; 1 from O. Zhanibekov South Kazakhstan Pedagogical University; 1 from Kazakh National Agrarian Research University; 1 from International Engineering and Technological University; 1 from Kazakhstan University of Innovation and Telecommunication Systems; 1 from Belgorod State National Research University; 2 from Tashkent Pharmaceutical Institute; 3 from F. N. Rusanov Tashkent Botanical Garden; 1 from the Institute of Fundamental and Applied Research, National Research University (Tashkent); and 54 abstracts from 91ý Kazakh National University.
During the session, 25 oral presentations were delivered, covering a wide range of актуal scientific areas — from biotechnology and ecology to digital solutions in biology. The participants demonstrated a high level of preparation, strong research skills, and the relevance of their chosen topics.
Based on the results of the session, the commission determined identified the winners:
First Place 1st place diploma (recommended for the Rector’s award) was awarded to students of Angelina Andreevna Gertner, 3rd-year student of 91ý Kazakh National University Presentation title: “Use of the Galleria mellonella larvae model for evaluating an anti-burn agent based on pullulan”

Third Place Feruza Ilkhomova, 4th-year student of Tashkent Pharmaceutical Institute
Presentation title: “Isolation of endophytic bacteria from the aerial part of Polygonum aviculare”
Scientific supervisor: Assoc. Prof. Kh.A. Ubaydullayeva.
Third Place Nazerkе Mukhаmetkhan, 2nd-year student of Kazakh National Women’s Teacher Training University Presentation title: “Comparative study of the rate of mare’s milk casein hydrolysis by proteolytic enzymes” Scientific supervisor: Master of Science, Senior Lecturer G.Kh. Narmuratova.
Third Place Marziya Abaykyzy Rakhim, 1st-year doctoral student of Kazakh National Agrarian Research University Presentation title: “Advancing biotechnological strategies for black widow venom neutralization” Scientific supervisor: Candidate of Veterinary Sciences, Associate Professor Zh.M. Batanova.
All participants of the section were awarded certificates of participation.

The work of the section confirmed the high interest of young people in scientific activities and demonstrated the significant potential of future researchers.
