Students of the “Logistics” program held an event on the topic “Ecology and youth”
On April 9, 2026, third-year students of the “Logistics” educational program of the Higher school of economics and business organized an educational and socially significant event on the topic “Ecology and youth” within the framework of the national initiative “Taza Kazakhstan.”
The event was organized by the lecturers of the Department of business technologies — A.Zh. Boltaeva, S.K. Akhmetkalieva, and D.T. Kalmakova. The main goal of the meeting was to develop students’ environmental awareness, increase their social responsibility, and engage young people in addressing current environmental challenges in the context of sustainable development and the modern “green” economy.
During the event, students delivered a thematic presentation which revealed the content and significance of the initiative“Taza Kazakhstan” as a large-scale national project aimed at environmental education. It was noted that the initiative covers various areas, including territory clean-up, greening, water body purification, waste management, and awareness-raising activities. The mechanisms for implementing the initiative, as well as the role of the government, business, and society in achieving environmental goals, were also discussed.
Special attention was given to the role of youth as a driving force for environmental change. Students emphasized that modern youth actively participate in environmental volunteer activities, implement educational projects, and introduce innovative solutions in waste recycling and energy conservation.
Particular interest among participants was generated by the interactive and game-based formats of the event. Students organized mini-quizzes, team tasks, case studies, and discussions. Participants analyzed real environmental problems, proposed logistical solutions for optimizing waste collection, sorting, and recycling, and discussed opportunities for implementing “green” technologies in urban environments and at the enterprise level.
In addition, the event addressed issues related to sustainable supply chains, green logistics, and reducing the carbon footprint of transportation operations. Students proposed ideas for implementing separate waste collection on the university campus, developing environmental infrastructure, and increasing environmental responsibility among students.
The results of the “Taza Kazakhstan” program were also presented, demonstrating the significant contribution of citizens to improving the environmental situation, including waste collection, tree planting, and cleaning of natural areas. These results indicate a growing level of environmental culture and social responsibility.
The event was held in an interactive format and generated active discussion and strong interest among students. Participants highlighted the importance of individual contributions to environmental protection and expressed their willingness to participate in environmental projects in the future, as well as to apply the knowledge gained in their professional activities. Such initiatives contribute to the formation of an environmentally responsible generation of specialists.
The organization of such events contributes to the development of students’ systemic understanding of sustainable development, environmental safety, and the role of logistics in managing natural resources. The department of business technologies of the Higher school of economics and business continues to contribute to the implementation of the large-scale environmental project “Taza Kazakhstan,” actively supporting initiatives aimed at developing environmental thinking and civilresponsibility among youth.
