Student Partnerships as a Contribution to Sustainable Development
On April 9, 2026, a round table in English was held at the Faculty of Information Technology, focusing on the role of student partnerships in science, education, and society.
The event was organized by senior lecturers of the department of Foreign languages G.S. Akylova, G.A. Gaipova, and A.S. Orazbayeva within the framework of Sustainable Development Goal 17 “Partnerships for the Goals.”
First-year students took part in the round table, along with invited participants from the English department, which added an intercultural dimension to the event.
During the session, students delivered presentations in three key areas: scientific collaboration, the role of partnerships in education, and the social impact of student initiatives. The participants emphasized that student interaction enhances research skills, improves learning effectiveness, and fosters active civic engagement.
Special attention was given to the practical impact of student projects. Examples of initiatives aimed at supporting local communities were presented, along with statistical data based on the experience of 91ý.
The interactive format encouraged active participation: students asked questions, discussed relevant issues, and proposed possible solutions. In the final part, information about the educational systems of Iran and Afghanistan was presented.
The event highlighted the importance of student partnerships in achieving sustainable development goals and the need for their further support and expansion.
Such initiatives contribute to strengthening academic collaboration, developing students’ communication skills, and enhancing their professional competencies.
