Bukhara State University Delegation Discusses Strategic Cooperation with KazNU

The Higher School of Economics and Business hosted an official meeting with a delegation from Bukhara State University. The delegation was led by Doctor of Economics, Associate Professor, and Dean Azizjon Anvarovich Kadirov. The meeting marked an important step toward strengthening strategic cooperation between the two universities.

From the Kazakh National University side, the meeting was attended by the Dean of the Higher School of Economics and Business Zhanna Yermekova, Deputy Dean for Research, Innovation and International Cooperation Shynggys Nurgazy, as well as heads of academic departments. During the meeting, both sides exchanged experiences and discussed promising areas for collaboration in education and research.

The discussions primarily focused on the development of bilateral cooperation. In particular, the participants explored opportunities for designing and implementing dual degree programs, aligning curricula, ensuring mutual recognition of educational programs, and expanding academic mobility for students and faculty members. These initiatives are expected to provide students with international academic exposure and enhance their competitiveness in the global labor market.

Special attention was given to strengthening joint research activities. The parties discussed prospects for collaborative research projects, participation in international grant programs, and increasing both the quantity and quality of scientific publications. Future cooperation will include co-authoring research papers, publishing in international indexed journals, and fostering academic exchange between researchers of both institutions.

In addition, the participants considered organizing joint international conferences, forums, seminars, and roundtable discussions. Such initiatives will contribute to knowledge exchange, academic networking, and deeper integration into the global academic community.

These collaborative efforts are fully aligned with the goals of the United Nations, particularly SDG 4: Quality Education, which emphasizes inclusive and equitable quality education and lifelong learning opportunities. In this context, international academic partnerships play a crucial role in enhancing educational quality and expanding global engagement.

Moreover, strengthening international cooperation contributes positively to the university’s performance in global rankings, including QS World University Rankings. In particular, such partnerships help improve key indicators such as academic reputation, employer reputation, internationalization (faculty and students), and the volume of joint scientific publications. These factors are essential for increasing the university’s global visibility and competitiveness.

In her remarks, Dean Zhanna Zhandarbekovna Yermekova stated:
“For our university, the development of international cooperation is a strategic priority. Partnership with Bukhara State University opens new opportunities for implementing joint research, and expanding academic horizons for our students. It will also contribute to enhancing our university’s international standing.”

At the conclusion of the meeting, both sides expressed strong mutual interest in further collaboration and agreed to develop a concrete action plan, as well as to prepare and sign relevant agreements. The establishment of joint working groups and the development of a roadmap for key areas of cooperation were also discussed.

Overall, the meeting represents a significant step toward strengthening international partnerships, advancing academic and research integration, and enhancing the university’s scientific and innovative potential.
