The potential of AI in the humanitarian field has been revealed
On the eve of the Day of Science Workers, the Al-Farabi Kazakh National University hosted the international scientific and practical conference "Artificial Intelligence and Humanities: education, Research and interdisciplinary integration".
The purpose of the meeting is to develop scientific dialogue in the field of humanities education and research in the context of digital transformation, to discuss new opportunities and emerging challenges that artificial intelligence brings to linguistics, literary studies and historical sciences.
Opening the conference, Kuanysh Tastambek, Director of the Department of Science and Innovation at the University, noted in his speech the importance of such interdisciplinary platforms for the development of science. He stressed that artificial intelligence gives a new impetus to humanitarian research and encourages young scientists to search in new directions. Kuanysh Tastambek also read out a congratulatory letter from the Minister of Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Sayasat Nurbek, dedicated to the Day of Science Workers.
"Dear colleagues, dear representatives of the intelligentsia! I sincerely congratulate you on the Day of Science Workers in Kazakhstan! The new Constitution, recently adopted with the support of the people, defines the development of human capital, science and innovation as a strategic direction of state policy for the first time. This is a reflection of the principled view that the vector of the country's development should be based not only on natural resources, but above all on human capital, an educated nation and intellectual potential",- the letter says.
Also during the meeting, domestic and foreign scientists discussed topical issues of the introduction of artificial intelligence technologies in the humanities and exchanged experiences. The participants made suggestions on modernizing educational programs, improving the quality of scientific research and developing international cooperation.
