Al-Farabi Kazakh National University has celebrated the Great Day of the Ulus on a large scale – the Nauryz holiday, which combines modern trends and national values.

The solemn event entitled «Әз Наурыз – тазару, жаңару бастауы» was attended by government and public figures, famous scientists, ambassadors and consuls, diplomats, media representatives, university graduates, faculty and students.

An ethnoaul is located on the territory of the university campus, which demonstrated to the guests the hospitality and rich culture of the Kazakh people. At the opening of the celebration,

Chairman of the Board – Rector of KazNU Zhanseit Tuimebayev congratulated those present and emphasized that the philosophy of the current celebration is directly related to the national idea of «Таза Қазақстан».

"Head of State Kassym-Jomart Tokayev emphasized: "Nauryz is a time of purification and renewal. Purity is, first of all, the purity of thoughts, consciousness and intentions. The Taza Kazakhstan initiative should become an unshakable ideology of our state, an integral part of the national image." For us, this is not only concern for the environment, but also, above all, purity of intentions, loyalty to the Motherland. Therefore, this year our holiday is being held in a new format – "Digital Nauryz",- the rector said.

Zhanseit Tuimebayev also summed up the results of the decade of "Наурызнама" at the university. According to the head of the university, during this period, the "Таза Қазақстан" campaign on campus improvement has become a real example of ecological culture. The rector said that through the Digital Nauryz trend, the traditions of the ancestors began to speak the language of modern technologies, and charity fairs and competitions in national sports allowed foreign students to get to know the cultural heritage of Kazakhstan better. The importance of the Taza Campus project among faculties and departments was also highlighted, which contributed not only to the transformation of the educational institution, but also to the education of unity and patriotism among young people.

During the celebration, Abzal Nukenov, Deputy Akim of Almaty, delivered a welcoming speech: "KazNU is not just a cradle of knowledge, it is a sacred shanyrak of the national spirit. Today's holiday, consonant with the idea of «Таза Қазақстан», gives a special impetus to the cultural life of the metropolis",- he said.

As part of the event, the winners of the «Таза кампус» project were awarded in various nominations.

The festive program continued with the vocal and choreographic composition "Nauryz-duman". Students and teachers performed a medley of folk songs, which delighted the audience. The guests were particularly impressed by the poetic production «Үш алыптың аманаты» with the participation of more than 100 artists, which revealed the spiritual depth of the holiday.

During a walk through the ethnoaul, the guests were able to see theatrical performances of Kazakh rituals such as тұсаукесер, қыз ұзату и беташар, as well as taste dishes of festive dastarkhan.
