KazNU and practicing doctors held a seminar on the prevention of dangerous infectious diseases.

As part of the Sustainable Development Goals (Goal 3: Good Health and Well-being), an important seminar-training for healthcare professionals was held at the Central Family Clinic in Almaty. The main objective of the event was to improve professional knowledge and practical skills in the prevention, early detection of dangerous infectious diseases, and ensuring the safety of medical personnel.

During the seminar, particular attention was paid to current and highly relevant topics such as Crimean-Congo hemorrhagic fever, tick-borne encephalitis, as well as the proper procedures for donning and doffing personal protective equipment (PPE). Since these infectious diseases pose a serious threat to human life, timely detection and the effective organization of preventive measures are among the key priorities of the healthcare system.

The event was attended by faculty members of the Department of Fundamental Medicine, Candidate of Medical Sciences and Acting Associate Professor Zhaktayeva G.M., as well as experienced infectious disease specialist Sharipova M.S. In the theoretical part, participants were provided with comprehensive and detailed information on the epidemiology, transmission routes, clinical manifestations, diagnosis, and prevention of these diseases.

The practical part of the training was conducted by Sharipova M.S. She explained the importance of the correct use of personal protective equipment and demonstrated step by step the procedure for donning and doffing a Type 1 protective suit. Participants performed practical exercises on the proper use of protective clothing, masks, gloves, and other equipment, which helps ensure their safety in daily work.

In addition, special attention was given to the importance of maintaining sanitary and epidemiological standards in healthcare facilities to prevent the spread of infections. Issues such as strengthening precautionary measures when working with patients, rapid response in hazardous situations, and effective interaction with colleagues were also discussed.

The seminar was held in an interactive format. Participants actively asked questions, shared their experiences, and discussed real clinical cases. This format allows for an effective integration of theory and practice and facilitates better understanding of the material.

At the end of the event, participants noted the high level of organization and emphasized the practical value of the knowledge gained. They highlighted that such training seminars play an important role in improving the professional qualifications of healthcare workers.

In conclusion, this seminar-training was an important initiative aimed at increasing healthcare workers’ preparedness for infectious risks and enhancing their professional level. It is expected that such educational events will continue in the future, which will positively contribute to protecting public health and stabilizing the epidemiological situation.
