Innovation and Technological Development — The Future of the IT Industry
A curator hour titled “Innovation and Technological Development — The Future of the IT Industry” was held at the Faculty of Information Technology and Artificial Intelligence for first-year students. The event aimed to develop students’ understanding of current trends in information technology and their impact on society and future professional activities.
In the context of rapid digital transformation, the IT industry has shifted toward practical technologies that deliver measurable results and sustainable business value. During the curator hour, students explored key areas of IT development, including artificial intelligence, big data analytics, cloud technologies, cybersecurity, and the Internet of Things (IoT).

The curator emphasized the importance of early professional orientation:
“A modern specialist must not only master technologies but also understand how they transform society, the economy, and the labor market. Our goal is to help students see career perspectives and develop readiness for lifelong learning,” the curator noted.
Participants discussed real-world examples of innovative solutions implemented across different economic sectors and examined digitalization prospects in Kazakhstan and global technological trends. The event followed an interactive format, encouraging students to engage in discussions, analyze modern IT trends, and complete practical group tasks.
Students highlighted the practical value of the meeting:
“We often hear about new technologies, but this session helped us understand how they are actually applied in companies and what skills will be demanded in the future,” shared a first-year student.

“Discussing artificial intelligence and its impact on different professions was especially interesting. Such meetings help us understand which direction to develop in,” another participant noted.
Interactive activities contributed to the development of critical thinking, teamwork, and problem-solving skills. Open discussions allowed students to express their ideas about the future of the IT industry and recognize the importance of innovation as a key factor of professional competitiveness.

As a result, the event increased students’ interest in professional development, strengthened motivation to study modern technologies, and emphasized the importance of continuous learning in a rapidly evolving technological environment. The curator hour also helped strengthen group cohesion and create a supportive educational atmosphere.
Organizers emphasized that the main feature of IT trends in 2026 is practicality: the most successful technologies are those that can be effectively implemented, maintained, and scaled. The balance between technology, human capital, and innovation culture will determine the future success of the IT industry.
