Environmental Protection – A Shared Responsibility for the Future
SDG-4 A curator hour titled “Environmental Protection as a Social Responsibility to Future Generations” was held at the Faculty of Journalism. The main goal of the event was to develop students’ environmental awareness, increase their sense of responsibility toward the environment, and highlight the importance of nature conservation.
During the session, students discussed the relevance of environmental issues in modern society and examined the causes and consequences of ecological challenges. Special attention was given to issues such as environmental pollution, depletion of natural resources, and climate change. Participants shared their perspectives and proposed practical ideas for protecting nature.
The topic of intergenerational continuity was also widely discussed, emphasizing the role and responsibility of each generation in preserving the environment. Students expressed their views through essay writing and reflective tasks, contributing to the development of ecological awareness and personal responsibility.
The curator hour was conducted in a reflective session format, allowing students to freely express their opinions, exchange experiences, and critically analyze environmental issues. The meeting featured active dialogue and meaningful discussion.
The event took place on April 16 in Room 212, with 15–20 students participating. The session was organized by Shaimaran M.
This event became an important step toward fostering environmental responsibility among students and developing a conscious attitude toward the future.
