A regular university meeting was held in the B.A. Berimzhanov Hall
On April 14, 2026, a regular university meeting was held in the B.A. Berimzhanov Hall. The agenda covered topical issues of strategic importance.
In the first part of the meeting, a session with experts from Times Higher Education (THE) was organized. During the meeting, the experts outlined key indicators influencing universities’ positions in global rankings and provided specific recommendations aimed at enhancing understanding of THE World University Rankings (WUR) metrics. In particular, they emphasized the importance of teaching quality, research performance, international collaboration, and academic reputation. The need to improve strategic planning and effective management mechanisms to increase the university’s global visibility was also highlighted.
In the second part of the meeting, reports from the heads of departments of the Faculty of Law were presented. Among them, the Head of the Department of Customs, Financial, and Environmental Law, Kuanalieva G.A., delivered a report. The presentation thoroughly reviewed the department’s strategic development plan for 2026–2029. Key priorities included modernization of academic programs, improvement of research quality, increase in international publications, and development of students’ professional competencies.
In addition, issues related to the department’s advancement in QS and THE WUR rankings were discussed. In this regard, the importance of expanding academic mobility, implementing joint projects with international partners, and increasing faculty research activity was emphasized.
Overall, the issues discussed at the meeting are aimed at the university’s strategic development, improving the quality of education, and strengthening its position in international rankings. It is expected that the adopted recommendations will lead to tangible results in the near future.
