Visit of Finance students to the Nomad Eco Village ethno-recreational zone

Third-year students of the “Finance” educational program (Kazakh department) visited the Nomad Eco Village ethno-recreational zone, where they had the opportunity to explore the rich historical and cultural heritage of Kazakhstan and the traditions of nomadic people.

During the excursion, participants were introduced to various types of yurts, which have historically served as the main dwellings of nomads. Students learned about their construction features, interior design, and the symbolic meaning of decorative elements.

A theatrical performance featuring horse riders attracted particular interest. It demonstrated elements of military culture and everyday life of nomadic peoples who once inhabited the territory of modern Kazakhstan. Participants were introduced to warriors’ equipment, traditional weapons, and staged battle scenes reflecting historical realities.

An important part of the program was the demonstration of traditional equestrian games such as kokpar and tiyn kagu. The organizers explained their significance, rules, and role in developing strength, agility, and teamwork.

Additionally, participants observed traditional eagle hunting with a golden eagle, one of the oldest forms of hunting art and an important part of Kazakh cultural heritage. Students had the opportunity to observe the process and take memorable photos with the eagle.

Students were also given the opportunity to try archery. Under the guidance of instructors, they learned basic skills and experienced the atmosphere of ancient warrior traditions. Moreover, participants enjoyed horse riding, which allowed them to experience the nomadic lifestyle in practice and feel a connection with their historical heritage.

As part of the trip, students visited one of the most picturesque natural landmarks — Ush Konyr, known for its scenic landscapes and historical significance.

The program concluded with traditional Kazakh dishes, including Nauryz kozhe, baursaks, and pilaf, allowing participants to immerse themselves more deeply in national culture and traditions.

The event was organized by the group curator Kyzdarbekova A.S. and first-year doctoral student of the “Islamic Finance” program Akhmetov A.A., who was undergoing teaching practice.

During the excursion, students showed great interest, actively participated, and asked questions. Such events contribute to the development of patriotic values, respect for national culture, and strengthening of team spirit among students.

This event contributes to the implementation of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, particularly SDG 4 “Quality Education” and SDG 11 “Sustainable Cities and Communities.”

The visit to the ethno-zone was not only educational but also inspiring, helping students better understand the importance of national traditions and their role in shaping cultural identity in modern society.
