KazLAE new generation engineering center opened in KazNU
The opening ceremony of the KazLAE Industrial Research Center for the Economy of small heights of Kazakhstan took place at the al-Farabi Kazakh National University.
The new center was created as an innovative platform for developing digital solutions, conducting joint research in the field of artificial intelligence and industrial technologies, as well as training highly qualified specialists.

The event was attended by Minister of Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan Sayasat Nurbek, Vice Minister Dinara Shcheglova, Chairman of the Board - Rector of KazNU Zhanseit Tuimebayev, as well as a foreign delegation led by international expert Gilbert van Kerkhove and representatives of technology companies.

Speaking at the ceremony, Minister Sayasat Nurbek noted that the updated Constitution defines education and science as the strategic foundation for the development of the state. According to the minister, the core of the innovation ecosystem should be concentrated in research universities. "Within the framework of these reforms, the role of the Treasury is special. The nature of the university has been based on a research model since its inception. The most advanced of the more than 300 laboratories opened in the country over the past three years are concentrated on the basis of this leading university",- the head of the department emphasized.

The rector of the university, Zhanseit Tuimebayev, focused on the importance of the new center in implementing the instructions of the Head of State to turn Kazakhstan into a regional IT hub and integrate science with production. According to the rector, the KazLAE center is a strategic facility developing unmanned aircraft, air mobility and intelligent control systems. "Here, scientists and industry representatives will join forces to implement applied projects that produce concrete results for the technological modernization of the economy. Our main priority is the formation of a new generation of engineering personnel",- concluded the head of the university.

In turn, Gilbert van Kerkhove, rotating Chairman of the UWEE Group and Adviser to the Department of Economic Development of Beijing, assessed this center as an effective tool that accelerates technology transfer between the university and business.

During the presentation, the technological potential and main directions of development of the KazLAE Industrial Research Center were presented. Memoranda of strategic cooperation between KazNU and international partners were signed during the event. Based on the documents, the parties agreed to implement joint scientific and industrial projects, promote technology transfer and train highly qualified personnel.

In the business part of the meeting, international experts and industry representatives presented their technological solutions, defining the center's work plan and priority areas for further cooperation. The activity of the KazLAE Industrial Research Center is aimed at solving urgent problems in the real sector of the domestic economy and the introduction of autonomous systems.
