KazNU strengthens its international authority

Vice Minister of Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan Dinara Shcheglova and Chairman of the Board - Rector of AlFarabi Kazakh National University Zhanseit Tuimebayev held a meeting with Gilbert van Kerkhove, Advisor to the King of Belgium and expert of the European Union on the Economic Commission.

 

At the meeting, the head of the educational institution, Zhanseit Tuimebayev, expressed gratitude to the guest of honor who had specially arrived to participate in the IV Digital Farabi 2026 international forum. In his speech, the rector spoke about the achievements of KazNU and shared his plans for the future.

"Al-Farabi Kazakh National University is among the Top 200 universities in the QS international ranking, confirming its status as the leading higher education institution in Central Asia. Currently, KazNU implements projects in the fields of natural sciences, physics, chemistry, biology, and geography. In this context, the university is ready to establish partnerships with foreign universities in any direction",- said the rector.

In her speech, Vice Minister of Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan Dinara Shcheglova noted that such meetings are of great importance for the development of international partnership and improving the quality of higher education.

In turn, Gilbert van Kerkhove highly appreciated the scientific and educational potential of al-Farabi Kazakh National University. "I have visited many Asian countries and got acquainted with the activities of higher education institutions. So, having familiarized myself with the scientific infrastructure of KazNU, I noticed that international projects are being implemented. This shows the active work of the university's scientists and the growing scientific potential of the educational institution",- said Gilbert van Kerkhove.

At the end of the meeting, the parties agreed to deepen mutual cooperation and expressed a desire to systematically implement joint initiatives.
