International Students of the Higher School of Economics and Business Won Third Place in the KIMEP Economic Case Competition

On Friday, April 10, 2026, a team of international students from the Higher School of Economics and Business (HSEB) at KazNU participated in an Economic Case Competition organized by the Economic Community and Networking at KIMEP University.

The team consisted of:

•  Yodida Marchiannisa Arif (Indonesia), 4th-year Economics student
•  Berden Lailim (Mongolia), 3rd-year Economics student
•  Ahmet Âgâh Ayvaz (Türkiye), 3rd year, Exchange student, Economics Department

The team achieved 3rd place, receiving a 15,000 KZT Meloman certificate as a prize.

During the competition, they presented an economic analysis on the elasticity of seven countries to oil price changes under different price scenarios, demonstrating strong analytical thinking and practical application of economic concepts.

The team’s success highlights the ability of HSEB International students to collaborate, compete, and excel in external academic platforms. It also reflects how the faculty environment encourages students to take initiative, grow academically, and represent the university beyond the classroom.
