“Clean Campus — Our Shared Home”: Environmental Clean-Up Initiative Promoting Ecological Culture
A traditional environmental clean-up event titled “Clean Campus” was held at the Faculty of Information Technology and Artificial Intelligence of 91ý Kazakh National University. The initiative aimed to promote environmental culture and strengthen social responsibility among students and staff. Faculty members and students actively participated in improving the dormitory surroundings and contributing to environmental protection.
The university campus is not only a place of education but also a second home for students. Based on this understanding, the faculty community identified the development of environmental awareness, civic responsibility, and professional ethics among students as a key priority.
Today, environmental issues have become a global concern. Environmental protection, efficient use of resources, and adherence to sustainable development principles are essential components of modern professional culture.
The clean-up event was organized at the initiative of the Department of Computer Science. During the activity, students and lecturers cleaned the dormitory area and carried out campus beautification works. The event aimed not only to ensure cleanliness but also to cultivate ecological thinking among students.

It was emphasized that environmental responsibility is an important indicator of professionalism for future IT specialists and artificial intelligence researchers. Participants highlighted that technological progress should go hand in hand with environmental care.
Within the framework of the event, several practical activities were implemented:
· cleaning of dormitory surroundings and pedestrian areas;
· planting flower seedlings and expanding green spaces on campus;
· awareness activities on efficient use of water and electricity resources.
According to students, every planted flower represents a tangible contribution to clean air, a pleasant environment, and a sustainable ecological future.
The following environmental principles were promoted among students:
1. Efficient use of natural resources;
2. Landscaping to improve campus environmental quality;
3. Integrating environmental awareness into everyday lifestyle.
Student Engagement and Collective Responsibility
The clean-up strengthened student social engagement, teamwork, and responsibility culture. Participants demonstrated that environmental protection is not only an ecological duty but also an expression of civic values.

Faculty activists noted that a modern engineer must possess not only technological expertise but also respect for the environment and commitment to sustainable development principles.
The “Clean Campus” initiative is not a one-day activity but a reflection of the university community’s care for its shared home. Students and faculty of the Faculty of Information Technology and Artificial Intelligence made a meaningful contribution to fostering a sustainable development culture at the university.
Cleanliness begins with each of us.
A clean campus is our shared pride and responsibility.
