SDG 5 – Gender Equality: Women in STEM/IT — Women’s Experience in Science and Information Technology
In the era of rapid digital transformation, science and technology have become key drivers of societal progress. However, gender equality in these fields remains an important and актуal issue worldwide. In line with SDG 5 – Gender Equality, a series of online lectures titled “Women in STEM/IT: Women’s Experience in Science and Information Technology” has been organized.
This initiative goes beyond traditional education—it serves as a platform for inspiration, empowerment, and professional growth. Its primary goal is to encourage greater participation of women in STEM and IT fields, while fostering an inclusive environment where knowledge, experience, and ideas can be freely shared.
The online lectures will be delivered by distinguished scholars and educators with extensive experience in artificial intelligence and data science:
Speaker: Dinara Sailauna Zhaisanova - PhD, Acting Associate Professor, Department of Artificial Intelligence and Big Data
Speaker: Gulshat Amanzholovna Amirkhanova - PhD, Assistant Professor, Department of Artificial Intelligence and Big Data

During the sessions, the speakers will share insights into their professional journeys, discuss challenges they have faced, and highlight opportunities for women in science and technology. Key topics will include artificial intelligence, data analytics, and Big Data, supported by practical case studies and real-world examples.

The main objective of this initiative is to strengthen the role of women in STEM and IT, break down persistent gender stereotypes, and promote equal opportunities. Although the participation of women in technology is steadily increasing, there is still a need for systemic efforts to ensure true equality and representation.
These lectures are designed for students, graduate students, early-career researchers, and anyone interested in building a career in technology and science. Participants will gain valuable knowledge, practical insights, and motivation to pursue their professional goals with confidence.
Gender equality is not only a matter of social justice—it is a critical factor for innovation, economic growth, and sustainable development. Increasing women’s participation in STEM leads to diverse perspectives, creative solutions, and more effective decision-making processes.

The “Women in STEM/IT” lecture series is not just an educational event, but a dynamic space for dialogue, collaboration, and inspiration. It offers participants an opportunity to expand their horizons, connect with professionals, and take meaningful steps toward their future careers.
By advancing the principles of SDG 5, this initiative contributes to building a more inclusive and equitable society where everyone has the opportunity to realize their full potential.
