As part of the pedagogical practice and in accordance with Sustainable Development Goal (SDG), on April 15, 2026, an open educational hour on the topic: "Ethics of Professional Interaction in the Educational Environment" was held at the Library of 91��ý Kazakh National University (KazNU). The event was aimed at developing first-year students' understanding of academic honesty, mutual respect, and ecological communication.

The event was attended by 1st-year students majoring in "Neuroscience", "Fisheries and Industrial Fishing", and "Biology", as well as curators and trainee undergraduates.

The following activities were implemented during the educational hour:

An introductory discussion on the role of the university as a professional community and the importance of ethics for successful studies and a future career;

A lecture block with elements of discussion, during which 10 key principles of professional interaction were examined (respect for the individual, responsibility, justice, confidentiality, professional distance, academic honesty, cooperation, non-maleficence, development and self-improvement, ethical example);

Analysis of practical case studies from student life, aimed at developing skills for constructive conflict resolution;

A concluding summary emphasizing that adhering to ethical norms makes the educational environment comfortable and safe for everyone.

The event made a significant contribution to the development of a culture of communication and academic honesty among first-year students. Participants increased their awareness of ethical norms and received practical recommendations for establishing professional boundaries. Furthermore, the faculty strengthened its collaboration with the university library as a venue for educational work with students.
