The Future-Oriented Importance of the Educational Exhibition in Increasing Access to Quality Education within the Framework of SDG 4

In accordance with Sustainable Development Goal 4, ensuring access to quality education and expanding lifelong learning opportunities are among the key priorities of the modern education system. Within the framework of this goal, an educational exhibition was organized to support applicants’ career guidance, create conditions for the conscious choice of a future profession, and introduce participants to modern trends in the educational environment.

The exhibition, intended for school students, parents, and teachers, was held on April 13 at 91ý Kazakh National University. The event was attended by leading higher education institutions of Kazakhstan, as well as branches of foreign universities, which provided comprehensive information about their educational programs, admission requirements, academic opportunities, and areas of international cooperation.

The educational exhibition served as an important platform for improving applicants’ information literacy, presenting a wide range of educational opportunities, and supporting informed career choices. During the exhibition, participants had the opportunity to communicate directly with university representatives and receive answers to their questions. Information about the features of educational programs, grant opportunities, academic mobility, international programs, and professions in demand in the future labor market was especially important for applicants.

In addition, parents received guidance regarding their children’s professional choices and became familiar with innovations in the education system. The exhibition helped applicants assess their interests and abilities, make informed decisions, and plan their path toward higher education more clearly.

One of the key features of the event was the broad presentation of international educational opportunities. The participation of foreign university branches demonstrated the development of global integration in education and opened opportunities for young people to consider studying at an international level. This, in turn, contributes to increasing the competitiveness of Kazakhstan’s education system.

Within the framework of the exhibition, informational materials on career guidance were presented, and recommendations were provided to help school students choose a specialty in accordance with their abilities and interests. Such events lay the foundation for applicants to correctly define their future professional path and become qualified specialists in demand in the labor market.

Zh.S. Tileubayeva, a lecturer at the Department of Botany and Agroecology of the Faculty of Biology and Biotechnology, provided applicants and their parents with detailed and comprehensive information about the content of the “Biology and Related Sciences” educational program, admission requirements, learning opportunities, and future professional areas. In addition, the research orientation of the program, the importance of practical and laboratory classes, and ways of developing students’ professional competencies were explained.

Thus, the educational exhibition is an important event contributing to the implementation of SDG 4 – Quality Education. It not only increases access to quality education for applicants but also supports the formation of their career guidance, helps them make a conscious choice of their future profession, and contributes to the training of qualified specialists needed by society.
