International Collaboration: Fundamental Lectures in Geology and Tectonics

At 91ý Kazakh National University, lectures by an international scholar, organized by the Faculty of Geography and Environmental Sciences and the Department of Cartography and Geoinformatics, are continuing at a high level.

One of the key academic highlights of this year is the visit of Professor Christian Sue from Grenoble Alpes University, a leading researcher at the ISTerre laboratory.

📚 Course Highlights:

Professor Christian Sue is delivering an advanced course titled “Active Tectonics: Tools and Methods” for students and master’s students. The lectures cover:

               •             Slow deformation of the Earth’s crust

               •             Modern methods in seismology and paleoseismology

               •             Geological mechanisms of earthquakes

By combining complex theoretical knowledge with practical case studies, the lectures have generated strong interest among participants and are opening new opportunities for young researchers to gain international experience.

Cultural and Academic Exchange

Beyond the academic program, special excursions around the university campus and introductions to its history have been organized for the guest. The professor highly appreciated the university’s scientific potential and modern infrastructure.

This visit is a clear example of integration into the global educational space and a significant step toward strengthening scientific cooperation between France and Kazakhstan.
