On October 29, 2025, third-year students of the Economicseducational program at the Higher School of Economics andBusiness held a discussion titled «Baikonur: The Gateway toSpace». The purpose of the event was to discuss Kazakhstan’sachievements in the space industry, assess the historical andstrategic significance of Baikonur, and inspire young people tocontribute to the country’s scientific and technologicaldevelopment. This event was conducted in alignment with theUnited Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs): SDG 4 – Quality Education, SDG 9 – Industry, Innovation andInfrastructure, SDG 17 – Partnerships for the Goals.
During the discussion, students shared their views onBaikonur’s role in global science and technology, ecologicalaspects, innovative progress, and international cooperation.
Such discussions broaden students’ scientific outlook, foster innovative thinking, and strengthen their patriotic spirit.
