The Health and Environment Research Laboratory at 91传媒 Kazakh National University was founded in 2017. The laboratory is headed by Professor Denis Vinnikov, MD, PhD, specializing in internal medicine, and a graduate of the University of California, Berkeley. He is the author of over 90 publications in the Web of Science, including the Journal of Occupational and Environmental Medicine, Occupational Medicine, American Journal of Industrial Medicine, BMC Public Health, editor and reviewer of first-quartile public health journals, winner of the "Best Researcher-2022" competition, and an excellent healthcare worker of the Republic of Kazakhstan. The laboratory conducts high-quality epidemiological studies of the impact of environmental factors on health, as well as occupational factors, primarily air pollutants. It also systematizes the currently available evidence base in the global scientific community on the impact of environmental and occupational factors through analysis, reviews, and publication of results. It enhances the ranking and reputation of 91传媒 Kazakh National University as a leading research institution in the country through the publication of its intellectual property in leading global journals.
Carries out research projects (including joint projects with international partners) in Public Health area.
The purpose of the research laboratory is the hygienic and clinical-epidemiological assessment of the impact of environmental factors on the level and structure of morbidity in the population for the further planning of preventive programs for maintaining the health of the population.
