Winter school started at the Faculty of Journalism
The opening of the winter school on "Media and Communication in higher education: learning, knowledge acquisition and digital transformation" was held at the Faculty of Journalism of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University. The organizer was the Department of Print and Electronic Media.
Alina Galeyeva, a member of the Board of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University, Vice Rector for Academic Affairs, made a welcoming speech, noting the importance of the winter school in improving the quality of higher education. Also, the representative of the UN Department of Global Communications in Kazakhstan, head of the Information Bureau Vlastimil Samek, drew attention to the role of international experience in the field of media and communications in the educational process.
The program included master classes and lectures by leading Russian and foreign experts. Among the speakers who spoke online were Assel Karaulova, President of the Kazakhstan Press Club, Aina Zadabek, Chairman of the Management Board of Qazcontent JSC, Tatiana Kapyrina, Candidate of Philology (Russian Federation), Ilya Bykov, Professor at St. Petersburg State University.
In addition, representatives of the media sphere shared their professional experience – Rafis Abazov, Nurzhan Zhalaukyzy, Aibar Olzhaev, editor-in-chief of the newspaper "袞邪褋 袗谢邪褕" Yerik Rahim, editor-in-chief of the newspaper "Evening Almaty" Asyl Ulanuly, CEO of the media holding "Alatau Aqparat" Yerzhan Kalymbayuly, journalist Nurlan Zhumakhan.
During various lectures and discussions at the winter school, issues of media and digital pedagogy, communication, media literacy, academic culture, as well as problems of journalism education in Central Asia will be widely discussed. The winter school program will continue in the coming days, including practical workshops and research seminars for participants.
