A book about academician Omirbek Zholdasbekov was presented
The presentation of the historical and educational book "Academician Omirbek Zholdasbekov", dedicated to the life and work of the famous scientist and public figure, took place at the al-Farabi Kazakh National University. The purpose of the event is to acquaint a wide audience with the life and work of Omirbek Zholdasbekov, to present his scientific works and historical research to the public.
The presentation was attended by the country's leading scientists, writers, intellectuals, public figures, as well as relatives and students of Omirbek Zholdasbekov.
Opening the event, Professor, Secretary of the Board of the Writers' Union of Kazakhstan Kanseit Abdezuly emphasized the contribution of the academician to the development of science and education and emphasized his role in strengthening national spirituality.
Academician of the National Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Director of the Abai Research Institute, Professor Zhangara Dadebayev noted that there is a separate stage in the history of higher education in Kazakhstan associated with Academician Omirbek Arslanuly. "During this period, the country's higher education developed rapidly both in terms of the material and technical base and in terms of the quality of specialist training. Under his leadership, Kazakh State University achieved outstanding success among the universities of the USSR in science and education, which gave a powerful impetus to the social development of the country",- the scientist emphasized.
The participants discussed the academic's scientific legacy, his teaching and organizational activities. The teachers noted the historical and cognitive value of the book and emphasized the importance of Omirbek Zholdasbekov's role in the study of national history. It was also noted that such works help to shape the historical consciousness of young people and strengthen respect for the national spiritual heritage.
The book contains materials about the academician's contribution to the development of national science since the 1970s, his selfless work on the construction of the university campus, which began in 1971, political activities in defense of social justice, as well as previously unpublished archival materials.
